Tehran Airport Terminal

Tehran airport (IKA), also known IKIA, is the main international airport in Iran. It’s located about 30 km (19 miles) southwest of the capital of the country, Tehran. The airport has two concrete runways.


IKA airport is one of the most important ones in terms of passenger traffic in the Middle East. In fact, is between the 12th busiest airports in the region, for tons of cargo as well: it managed over 135,000 tons in 2015. Serves more than 45 passenger airlines with 850 flights every week to 40 different destinations worldwide.


Tehran airport currently has a main terminal, Terminal 1. Terminal 2 is under construction and there’s a project to build Terminal 3 during next years.


Terminal 2 is going to be called Salam Terminal and Terminal 3, Iranshahr Terminal.




Terminal 1


Tehran Airport Terminal 1 is the first and sole active terminal in Tehran Airport.


It is able to handle between 6.5 and 7 million passengers (in the present time it handled over 9 million passengers).


By the following years, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 will be opened to be able to host more passengers.

Terminal 2 - Salam Terminal

Terminal 2 is under construction and is expected to be finished by the end of 2018.

going to be called Salam Terminal.




Terminal 3 - Iranshahr Terminal

There’s a project to build Terminal 3 during next 3 years, which will be named Iranshahr Terminal.
