Transport to and From Tehran Airport - IKIA


Passengers can go and come back to Tehran airport by road. It’s accessible by car, bus and taxi via the Tehran-Qom Freeway.

The road connects the airport terminal with the freeway, continuing to Rabat-Karim via an interchange with Saidi Highway.

Bus and Metro

From KIA airport there’s available a bus which goes to Haram Metro station and departs every 30 minutes during the day (during the night it departs when there are enough passengers). To take it, go to the exit gate of the terminal. Travel time to the the metro station is about 20 minutes. Regular buses to the city centre are available from outside the terminal.

During the rush hours the metro usually is really crowded, in that case, you can consider other options of transportation as car rental or taxi.

An extension to the southern part of Line 1 of Tehran Metro for IKA airport is currently under construction. It’s planned to have Line 3 of the Tehran Metro reach its southern terminus at IKA in the future.



To take a taxi is one of the best ideas to travel from Tehran airport to the city center or other locations. Traffic in Iran can be a bit chaotic and drivers know how to manage the situation. Taxicab area is outside the airport. You can pick up one there or call Teherán Taxi Company (1828 license number) or Imam Jomeini (1833).

There are preset fares on routes taxis.
